Satellites Open Meet 24th to 25th April 2010

The Satellite Swimming Club, Macclesfield hosted their 23rd Designated Open meet over the weekend of 24th / 25th April and the City of Chester Swimming Club was well represented with 19 swimmers taking part. Overall it was a very successful weekend with several personal best times; including National and North West Region qualifying times being achieved.

Connie McClelland and Oliver Tobin swam in the Ten year Age Group achieving four gold medals and several other top eight finishes. In addition, Connie set a new Meet record in the 200m Individual Medley. Swimming in the Eleven year Age Group were Isobel Thwaite and Jessica Feely. They both set new personal best time in the majority of their events with Isobel gaining three further North West Region qualifying times. Jessica Jackson, Sara Hussey, Lauren Goodfellow, Simon Ellershaw and Alex Slater all competed very well in the Twelve year Age Group with Alex achieving his North West Region qualifying time in the 200m breast stroke event. In the Thirteen year Age Group were Amy Fell, Laura Davis and Sophie Armstrong. They all achieved personal best times in their events with Sophie picking up one gold and two silver medals. Amy Jackson, Lizzie Little, Lucy Doherty and Alex Jenkins all swam very well in the Fourteen year Age Group with Lucy winning both back crawl events setting a new Meet record in the 200m. Representing Chester in the Fifteen and over Age Group were Danielle Morgan and Will Slater who both swam well.

The most successful Chester Swimmer at the Meet was Daniel Hussey who, swimming in the Fourteen year Age Group, won the gold medal in all seven of the events in which he competed.
