Mike Richards Price is new Head Coach
City of Chester Swimming club welcomed their new Head Coach last week-Mike Richards Price who brings a wealth of experience with him from his previous coaching roles.
Mike has previously coached swimmers who have medalled at the British National Age Groups, and swimmers that have also entered the British Championships and Olympic Trials. More recently he has been part of the Welsh Regional, Welsh Disability and Welsh Schools coaching teams.
Mike who is originally from North Wales, said last week he is looking forward to working with all the swimmers at the club including the highly successful Learn to Swim section. Overall there are 70 squad swimmers and nearly 800 children in the Learn to Swim programme.
The new Head Coach said he is looking to put his coaching skills into practise and build and improve on the current success of the club; included in his aims and objectives are to produce the best out of all the swimmers in all the five squads and to develop the children in the Learn the Swim who will be serious contenders for places in the swimming squads. There are already some promising swimmers which Mike aims to develop further and strengthen the squads accordingly.
He added “ We have very good coaching and teaching staff at City of Chester Swimming Club and we will deliver the best training programme possible and also help all the swimmers to achieve their goals. We are currently developing our coaching plan and identifying which gala events to attend over the next 12 months”
