European Masters Swimming Championships

Two Swimmers represented the City of Chester Swimming Club at the European masters Swimming Championships in the the Spanish City of cadiz. The event was held over six days with 3584 swimmers taking part from 34 countries. Medals were awarded to the first three places with certificates down to 8th place.
On the first day Tom Walker came 5th in the 200m. individual medley in his final year in the 70 to 74 age group.
On day two Brenda Walker improved her time by 12 seconds to take bronze in the 200m freestyle also in the 70-74 age group. Tom then came 7th in the 50m. breaststroke.
Day three brought another bronze for Brenda in the 50m backstroke whilst Tom came 6th in the 100m. breaststroke. Day four proved to be the most successful with both the Chester swimmers taking GOLD in the 200m. backstroke. Brenda took her second GOLD of the week on day five in the 100m. backstroke whilst Tom took bronze in the 200m. breaststroke.
The couple do all their training at CHESTER CITY BATHS.
