Cheshire Championships 2010 Report
Congratulations to all swimmers who represented the Club at the Cheshire Championships. There were some extrordinary swims that each and every swimmer should be very proud of.
Altogether the club achieved 28 Gold Medals from Caleb St. Hill, Alex Slater, Dan Hussey, Will Slater, Andy Irvine, Connie McClelland, Lucy Doherty, Alice Little, Ladies Open Medley and Free Relay Teams (Alice Little, Nicky Ball, Lucy Doherty, Hannah Phillips), Boys 13/14yrs Free Relay (Dan Hussey, Alex Ankers, Jack Fleetwood and Dan Morgan)
Plus, 24 Silver Medals and 23 Bronze Medals from: Oliver Tobin, Simon Ellershaw, Matt Breen, Jess Feely, Isobel Thwaite, Sophie Armstrong, Nicky Ball, and Sarah Eaglesham.
The club also saw 7 National Qualifying Times achieved by Dan Hussey (50 FC, 100 BC and 200 BC), Nicky Ball (100 and 200 BC), and Lucy Doherty (100 and 200 BC)
87 North West Qualifying Times were achieved by: Simon Ellershaw, Alex Slater, Dan Hussey, Reuben McCormack, Will Slater, Andy Irvine, Connie McClelland, Isobel Thwaite, Sophie Armstrong, Nicky Ball, Lucy Doherty, Georgina Roberts, Lizzie Little, Georgina Gardner-Stockley, Sarah Eaglesham, Alice Little and Hannah Phillips.
During the meet, 10 Cheshire County Records were broken and 1 equalled by City of Chester Swimmers: Connie McClelland (200 FC, 50 FLY, 200 BC, 100 IM), Lucy Doherty (200 BC), Alice Little (100 BRS), Alex Slater (50 BC), Will Slater (50 BC) and Dan Hussey (50 FC and 50 FLY).
Sara Hussey, Amy Fell, Paula Clethro, Georgina Roberts, Rachel Stevens, Alex Ankers, Jack Fleetwood and Tom Lee all progressed through to finals in their Age-Groups, some for the very first time so very well done.
