Swimmers shine at Stoke on Trent
City of Stoke on Trent Open Meet 24th+25th September 2011.
The Cosacss Meet is an established fixture in the City of Chester Calender, where COCSC’s younger swimmers compete hoping to achieve qualifying times for the forthcoming season’s higher level meets such as the Liverpool and District Championships, Cheshire counties and North West Regional Championships. In a lot of ways this meet could set a swimmer up for the season If the performances are good enough and COCSC did not disappoint!
Some of the younger swimmers, competing in their first competitive season, arrived with the fearlessness of a swimmer on the competition circuit for many years! This was evident in the number of personal best times, with the rare occasion of EVERY SWIMMER swimming a new personal best time.
There were a large number of medals won and every one counted towards an extremely impressive haul, making City of Chester the top performing club in the Cheshire Area at this meet. Multiple Gold Medallists and overall performer of the weekend went to Caleb St Hill on the Boys side and Millie Riddick from the Girls.
Lee Holland, Head Coach said “I am really pleased that the successes that were present at our own club championships are now transferring to the meets outside of our “comfort zone”, the swimmers certainly showed sign of having the qualities of top class athletes in the water today!
