City of Chester Swimming Club competes at Conwy Autumn meet

City of Chester Swimming Club recently competed at the Conwy Autumn meet near the end of October, and were awarded Second top outside club. 22 swimmers won 3 of the top swimmer awards, 58 medals and achieved 11 Regional qualifying times between them.

Millie Riddick won the top girl award for the 11 year olds, and 12 year old Georgia Williams won the same in her age group. Will Brown won top boy in the 13 year olds.

Millie won 6 gold medals in 50m, 200m and 400m Freestyle, 100m and 200m Backstroke, and 200m Individual Medley, and 2 silver medals in 100m Butterfly and 100m Breast stroke. Georgia gained 4 Regional qualifying times across the two days together with 3 gold medals in 200m and 400m Freestyle and 400m Individual Medley, 4 silver medals in 50m Freestyle, and 50m, 100m and 200m Butterfly. Will won 2 gold medals for 400m Individual Medley and 50m Backstroke, and 2 silver medals in 50m Butterfly and 200m Breaststroke. He also won a bronze medal for 100m Breast stroke.

The other swimmers gaining Regional Qualifying times were; 15 year old Matthew Breen - 3 Regional Qualifying times and he also won 5 gold medals in 50m and 100m Butterfly, 50m and 100m Freestyle, and 50m Breaststroke and silver in 200m Individual Medley. Laura Davies gained a Regional Qualifying time in 50m Freestyle together with a Silver medal, as did Amy Fell in 100m Breaststroke with a Bronze Medal , Lauren Goodfellow in 50m Backstroke and a Bronze medal and Luc –Sebastian Jarzynski in 100m Freestyle with a Silver medal.

Also helping the team gain their second top club award and adding to the medal tally over the weekend were Allan Prossor, Thomas Rowlands, Caleb St Hill, Jack Edwards, Laura Fell, Abi Goodfellow, Charlotte Hopwood, Lucy Osborne, Sophie Clarkson, Anna Plunkett, Mia Loftus and Jasmine Yeoman
